…then Estonian ETNO 2005 could be the highlight of your summer!

 

 

 

What is Estonian ETNO?

 

  • Estonian ETNO is a youth camp of learning traditional music and dance
  • The main goal is to learn music by ear and express yourself through the traditional culture
  • Beside the playing music we will also singing and dancing together
  • Certainly we will swim and hike a lot
  • Estonian ETNO will take place every summer just before international Viljandi Folk Music Festival and will finish together with this great party. The participants of the camp will perform at the festival stage and through this activity they will popularize traditional music among ordinary people

What and how we will learn?

 

  • Estonian ETNO is based on workshops, where the participants can learn music mostly by ear
  • The teachers or like we say – the musical leaders – are good musicians from all over Estonia and this year from Scotland too
  • If you can play any kind of instruments, you are very welcome!

How to participate?

 

Participation fee is 1200 EEK. The fee includes travel expenses from Viljandi to camp place and back, workshops, T-shirt, lodging and all meals during ETNO starting from dinner on Friday July 22, ending with breakfast on Thursday July 28, plus lodging during the Viljandi Folk Music Festival July 28–31. The fee includes a ticket to the festival but not meals during the festival. You must also pay your travel expenses to Estonia and back. ETNO participants from countries within Eastern Europe and developing countries may apply for a scholarship for ETNO

Applications form must be posted with electronic mail by 20th of June, 2005 at the latest!
